Guest Blogger Series on Campaign Finance Reform in NYS

If you are interested in campaign finance and related issues, I recommend that you check out the Corporate Political Activity blog.

They have just posted the first of four guest posts on campaign finance reform.  The first post is by Amy Loprest and Eric Friedman of the NYC Campaign Finance Board.

They recommend a public matching funds system, as in New York City; lower contribution limits; closing the “housekeeping” loophole; independent expenditure disclosure; and effective enforcement of campaign finance laws.

Subsequent posts will come from Joel Gora of Brooklyn Law School, Elisabeth Genn of the Brennan Center for Justice and Heather Briccetti of the Business Council of New York State.
