Judge Rules for Trump Over JCOPE

The Daily News reports that an Albany-area judge has ruled in favor of Donald Trump in his 2014 lawsuit against JCOPE seeking information on whether the state ethics commission voted to conduct a formal probe into his 2013 complaint against Schneiderman.  (Read my prior posts on this lawsuit here and here.)

Back in 2013, Trump filed an complaint with JCOPE against state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman. State law requires JCOPE to decide, within 45 days of the complaint being filed, to vote on whether or not to act on the complaint.  Last year, Trump filed this lawsuit to force JCOPE to act on his complaint.

According to the Daily News, Acting State Supreme Court Justice Henry Zwack has ordered JCOPE to vote on the matter within 30 days (if it has not done so already) and report back to the judge in 45 days.  However, JCOPE is expected to appeal the ruling.
