Comptroller Candidate Approved for Matching Funds
Gannett reports that the State Board of Elections (SBOE) has approved GOP Comptroller candidate Bob Antonacci’s application to participate in the state’s public matching funds pilot program.
Under the program, which was enacted as part of the state’s 2014-15 budget agreement, Antonacci must raise at least $200,000 from 2,000 individual state donors who give between $10 and $175. (His July 15 filing with the SBOE shows that he has raised just over $30,000.) Once he files a report with SBOE indicating that he has done this. the Board will transfer matching public funds to his campaign committee — $6 for each eligible dollar raised.
