Report: Charges to Be Filed Against Working Families Party in 2009 Race
The New York Post is reporting that a special prosecutor will file criminal charges on Monday against two individuals and two political operations that are linked to the Working Families Party (WFP).
According to the Post, special prosecutor Roger Adler is expected to charge Data and Field Services, a subsidiary of the progressive WFP, of illegally providing discounted services to a New York City Council candidate in her successful 2009 race and filing false reports regarding such services with the New York City Campaign Finance Board (CFB) and the State Board of Elections.
This matter has taken so long to get this point in part because the WFP challenged the Staten Island District Attorney’s decision to recuse himself from this case. The Court of Appeals upheld his recusal this past June, which allowed the special prosecutor to continue his investigation.
