Report: Federal, State Investigators Looking into Maziarz Campaign Spending on Local Races
The Buffalo News reports that state and federal investigators are investigating whether former State Senator George Maziarz’s campaign committee secretly paid for mailers, advertising, robocalls and other campaign materials in some local races.
According to the article, FBI agents are working with the State Police, and plan to turn over their findings to State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.
Maziarz did not run for re-election last fall. It was reported last summer, shortly after he announced that he would not run for re-election, that his campaign committee spending was being scrutinized by federal officials.
