Center for Working Families Reports on Corporation Campaign Donations
The Center for Working Families (CWF), a labor-backed policy group, ranks state legislators by the amount of corporate dollars received, and the percentage of corporate dollars received of their overall monies raised, in 2011-12.
The group’s findings were released as part of the Fair Elections campaign, which is calling for state campaign finance reform, including a system of matching public donations.
But as this blog notes, CWF’s research does not look at some of the other big spenders in state politics – labor unions.
This report also seems to be somewhat premature. The 27-day post general election filings are not due to be filed with the State Board of Elections until Nov. 29.
