Governor, Legislative Leaders Announce Members of JCOPE Review Commission

Governor Cuomo, Senate Majority Leader Skelos and Assembly Speaker Heastie have announced the eight members of the JCOPE Review Commission.

The Commission will review and evaluate the activities and performance of the Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) and the Legislative Ethics Commission, and issue a report to the Governor and Legislature to by November 1, 2015.

The members of the JCOPE Review Commission are:

• Anthony Crowell, Dean at New York Law School and former counsel to Mayor Michael Bloomberg;
• Michael Feldberg, a partner at Allen & Overy LLP and a former Assistant U.S. Attorney;
• Seymour James, Attorney-in-Chief of the Legal Aid Society in New York City’
• Tony Jordan, Washington County District Attorney and former Assembly member;
• William LaPiana, of New York Law School;
• Elizabeth Moore, Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Con Edison, and former Counsel to Gov. Mario Cuomo;
• Patricia Salkin, Dean at Touro Law School; and
• Dale Volker, a former State Senator.
