JCOPE Announces Comprehensive Ethics Training Course Schedule

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) has released its 2014 schedule for its Comprehensive Ethics Training Course.

Under the state’s 2011 ethics overhaul, all State officers and employees who are required to file a Financial Disclosure Statement (“FDS”) with JCOPE must take the course.

Under Public Officers Law § 94(10), the ethics training course must cover “the provisions of sections seventy‐three, seventy‐three‐a, and seventy‐four of the public officers law and any other law, administrative regulation, or internal policy that is of relevance to the ethical conduct of such individuals in public service…”

The course will be held at JCOPE’s Albany offices on the following dates:

• Thursday, March 27th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
• Thursday, May 5th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
• Thursday, September 18th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
• Thursday, November 20th from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
