JCOPE Releases “Guide to Leaving State Service” Pamphlet

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) released the “Guide to Leaving State Service” pamphlet earlier today. It describes the limits that current state employees will face if they leave their positions. The guide does not apply to legislative employees, or to Executive Chamber employees.

The publication “summarizes restrictions on former State Officers and Employees…when taking a new job,” and is intended to provide “an easy to understand summary of restrictions that apply to former State Officers and Employees contained in the State Public Officers Law.”
