JCOPE Releases Mid-Year Lobbying Data
The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE), the state’s lobbying regulator, has released mid-year lobbying data from 2016.
The data show that lobbying clients spent $120.2 million on lobbying activities in the first six months of 2016, $10.7 million (about 8%) less than was spent on lobbying during the same period in 2015.
JCOPE notes that the list of top 10 clients (in terms of total expenditures) includes some groups that have never before appeared on its list, including the New York State Nurses Association, the Mario Cuomo Campaign for Economic Justice, Uber Technologies.
