Attorney General Appoints First Regional Integrity Officer
With little fanfare, on Friday Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced the appointment of the appointment of a public integrity officer to serve in the Rochester Regional Office.
During last fall’s campaign, then-candidate Schneiderman promised to appoint a public integrity officer to each of his 13 regional offices across the state “to police local government corruption.”
In Rochester, Schneiderman named attorney Hillel Deutsch. As the region’s Public Integrity Officer, Deutsch will be the point of contact in the Rochester region, taking confidential complaints from the public, facilitating investigations, and coordinating with the Albany-based Public Integrity Bureau.
