Erik Piorkowski is a member of Hinman Straub’s Litigation and Health Law departments, where he represents healthcare organizations, assisted living providers, insurers, and corporate clients in complex civil litigation and regulatory matters. Erik brings wide-ranging litigation and regulatory experience to the firm’s clients. His work includes motion practice, administrative proceedings, regulatory analysis, Medicaid/OMIG compliance program development, and trial-level advocacy.
Mr. Piorkowski joined Hinman Straub in 2022 after graduating magna cum laude from Albany Law School. His experience includes drafting briefs in Article 78 and administrative challenges, handling OMIG audits and agency enforcement disputes, and preparing legal submissions in a wide range of civil litigation matters.
In his three years at Hinman Straub, Mr. Piorkowski has successfully litigated employment claims, commercial disputes, commercial foreclosure proceedings, evictions, and property damage claims. He also serves healthcare and assisted living providers on regulatory compliance, develops Medicaid compliance programs and training materials, prepares responses to audit findings and investigative inquiries, and contributes to large-scale initiatives evaluating compliance program effectiveness.
He is originally from East Greenbush, New York. Outside the office, Mr. Piorkowski enjoys spending time with his family and snowboarding during the winter months.
