Heather Evans is a Director at Hinman Straub and a member of the firm’s Education department, where she assists clients in navigating state government and communicating budget and policy goals. With a focus on education and human services, Ms. Evans brings 25 years of experience in government relations, strategic advocacy, and policy development to the firm’s clients.

Ms. Evans joined Hinman Straub in 2009 and has since assisted clients in navigating a complex government system. Before Hinman Straub, Heather was a lobbyist with Carr Public Affairs, where she assisted client advocacy efforts with state policymakers, including state agencies.

Ms. Evans began her career in state government as a legislative assistant to former Assembly member Edward Sullivan, who served the 69th Assembly district until 2002.  Assembly member Sullivan was the Chair of the Higher Education Committee, where Heather was first introduced to the professions and higher education funding and policy.

Heather Evans lives in Albany, NY. You can find her either rowing on the Hudson River or tending to her urban vegetable garden.
