Matt O’Connor joined Hinman Straub in 2007 and is a member of the firm’s Government Relations department representing the interests of a variety of clients before the Legislature and Executive Branch. Since his arrival at Hinman Straub, Mr. O’Connor’s policy focus areas have been economic development, taxation, transportation, public safety and environmental issues. At the State Capitol, Matt has provided legislative counsel to Fortune 500 corporations, state and national trade associations, public employee organizations and nonprofit entities.

Prior to his tenure at Hinman Straub, Mr. O’Connor held positions in both houses of the Legislature in the offices of the Assembly Minority Leader and the Senate Majority Leader, where he was responsible for implementing communications and constituent outreach programs on behalf of a number of legislators from across the state. In addition, Mr. O’Connor has volunteered and assisted on numerous local and state political campaigns.

Matt previously served as the Chairman and President of State Law Resources (SLR), an international network of independent law firms selected for their experience in government relations and administrative and regulatory law at the state and national level.
