Philip Murphy is a member of the Firm’s Health Law, Corporate Law, and Estate and Financial Planning Departments. He provides legal counsel to business and not-for-profit entities on regulatory compliance issues, organizational governance, capital financing and other commercial transactions. Mr. Murphy has ten years of experience in hospital finance during which he served as Controller and Vice President of Finance at two Albany, New York-area hospitals.

In response to increased regulatory scrutiny of health care entities, Mr. Murphy has represented community health centers and home care providers during investigations involving the New York State Office of the Medicaid Inspector General and the New York State Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Attorney General’s Office. This representation has included assistance with development of corporate compliance programs, self-disclosure protocol, internal investigations and resolution of improper practices.

Mr. Murphy is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Saratoga Bar Association and American Health Lawyers Association.
