JCOPE to Hold Round Table Discussions

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) has announced that it will hold “informal roundtable discussions for lobbyists, client filers and compliance officers on a variety of topics.”

The first roundtable will cover the state’s new disclosure requirements on “source of funding” and “reportable business relationships,” which will be held in Albany on March 8th and in New York City on March 15th.

JCOPE’s announcement emphasizes that these events “are not training sessions,” but are “opportunities for the regulated community to meet with JCOPE staff to discuss any issues relating to compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines, and their experience with the Commission.”

Anyone who is interested in attending should e-mail JCOPE by March 6th, and include the word “Roundtable” in the subject line. JCOPE also asks that those who wish to attend to provide “any specific topics they are most interested in discussing and the preferred location (Albany or New York City) they would want to attend.”
