New York Law Journal: “Cuomo-Schneiderman ‘Team’ Vow to Battle Albany Corruption”
The New York Law Journal wraps up the recent elections with an article discussing Governor-Elect Cuomo and Attorney General-elect Schneiderman’s plan to “seek to institute new tools to fight the government corruption they say is endemic in Albany.”
It notes that Cuomo has proposed the elimination of the CPI, replacing it with a more independent agency which would be empowered to investigate corruption in both the executive and legislative branches.
The article discusses the AG’s authority to investigate public corruption cases, as well as Election Law violations.
