JCOPE Lobbying Amnesty Program Underway

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) has launched its Lobbying Amnesty Program, which runs through June 30, 2016.

It is not a general amnesty program, but is limited to lobbyists or clients who were required to file with JCOPE but who never did.

A lobbyist or client who has been contacted by JCOPE for non-compliance, or who is the subject of a criminal investigation for failure to comply with the Lobbying Act is not eligible.

Eligible applicants will be required to:

  • submit all statements of registration and periodic reports required by the Lobbying Act for lobbying activity occurring between January 1, 2013 and the of their amnesty application; and
  • pay all applicable filing fees to JCOPE;
  • within fifteen days of acceptance into the program.

The program application form can be found here.
