SBOE Publishes 2018 Campaign Finance Calendar
The State Board of Elections (SBOE) has published its 2018 Filing Calendar for Campaign Financial Disclosure, which notes that the filing deadlines relating to the September primary will change if the Legislature changes the primary date.
The September primary for state and local offices is currently scheduled to be held on Tuesday, Sept. 11. But that date, in addition to falling on the anniversary of the 2001 terror attacks, also coincides with the second day of the Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah.
Earlier today, the Senate gave final approval to a bill (A.8917-A) that would change the primary date to Sept. 13. The bill has not yet been delivered to the Governor, but my sense is that he is likely to sign it into law.
