Brennan Center Forum on Public Financing of Campaigns
The Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law holds a forum on “The Benefits of Public Financing in New York State,” tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Manhattan.
The program is the first of a series “examining the future of public financing for political campaigns” and will include an update on the current campaign to enact campaign finance reform for all elections during the 2012 legislative session in Albany.
Panelists for tonight’s program include
- Michael Malbin, Executive Director of the Campaign Finance Institute and political science professor at SUNY-Albany;
- Michael Petro, Executive Vice President of the Committee for Economic Development;
- Dr. Hazel Dukes, President of the NAACP New York State Conference and member of the NAACP National Board of Directors; and
- Zephyr Teachout, associate professor at Fordham University School of Law.
