Governor Cuomo Makes CPI Appointments
Governor Andrew Cuomo has announced three appointees to serve on the Commission on Public Integrity, which is responsible for overseeing ethical matters relating to Executive Branch employees and regulating lobbyists The positions are uncompensated and do not require Senate confirmation.
Mitra Hormozi will serve as Commission Chair; she is a former Assistant United States Attorney for the Eastern District of New York, where she was the Chief of the Organized Crime and Racketeering Section. She served under Cuomo in the Attorney General’s Office, where she was responsible for the investigation of former Senate Majority Leader Pedro Espada.
Richard Bartlett, who practices law in Glens Falls. He is a former Dean and Professor of Law of Albany Law School of Union University, and also served as a New York State Supreme Court Justice and Chief Administrative Judge.
Vernon Broderick, a partner at Weil, Gotshal, & Manges LLP, who previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Southern District of New York and as the head of that office’s Violent Gangs Unit.
