Mayor de Blasio, Lawyer Respond to Allegations of Election Law Violations
Last Friday evening, after reporting that the State Board of Elections’ Chief Enforcement Counsel had recommended that the Manhattan District Attorney’s office pursue criminal charges relating to the 2014 state Senate fundraising, the Daily News posted the January 4, 2016 “privileged & confidential” memo.
Yesterday, a lawyer for Mayor de Blasio responded in a letter that strongly challenged her conclusion that any criminal activity occurred in relation to the 2014 State Senate elections, and calling the memo’s disclosure “improper.” [Read news coverage from Politico and the New York Times. ]
