JCOPE to Introduce New FDS Filing System

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) has announced, via an “eblast,” that it will be implementing a new system for filing financial disclosure statements online.

According to the eblast, which appears to have gone out to agency ethics officers:

The new system is the result of a two-year design and development effort to make it easier for public officers and employees to file, for JCOPE to administer those filings and for all of you to manage the filer lists for your agencies.

As is the case now, filers will be able to access the new filing system and download filing instructions from the JCOPE website. Filers will receivean introduction to the new system when they are sent their annual notice of the requirement to file. For SUNY and CUNY faculty filers,that notice will go out on October 15, 2015.

Instructions specific to Ethics Officers will be distributed in a separateemail prior the October 8 “Go Live” date.
