More on Super PACs, in New York and Elsewhere
Just in case you share my interest in how outside groups are impacting elections here in New York State (as I discussed in a blog post yesterday), below are links to a few more articles on the topic.
In the Times Union, New York State United Teachers (NYSUT) spoke of the approximately $4.5 million they spent in this election cycle – some $3.5 million of which was spent in independent expenditures.
In Stateline, read about the efforts of elections officials in California, Idaho and Maine to determine the source of independent expenditures when the entity making them is located outside of the state.
And the Campaign Legal Center (a public interest group) argues that groups making independent expenditures “controlled the 2012 election conversation.”
