JCOPE Seeks Public Comment on New Disclosure Mandates

The Joint Commission on Public Ethics (JCOPE) sent out an e-blast requesting public comment on two new disclosure requirements for lobbyists and clients – “reportable business relationships” and the source of funding for certain lobbying activities – that were enacted as part of the Public Integrity Reform Act of 2011.

JCOPE’s notice indicates that they plan to develop guidelines and regulations regarding these new disclosure requirements.

Written comments can be submitted through May 18, either via e-mail or regular mail.

There is more information regarding this “invitation for public comment” on JCOPE’s web site.
