Julie M. Marlette is a member of the Firm’s Government Relations department. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Marlette was director of Governmental Relations for the New York State School Boards Association, where she served as their chief lobbyist. She joined the firm with strong political background that includes more than twenty years of legislative, lobbying and non-profit management experience.

She previously served as the Vice-President Political Strategy, at 50CAN: the 50 State Campaign for Achievement now and later Executive Director of the affiliated association, the 50CAN Action Fund. In these roles, she oversaw both legislative and electoral strategies in the 8 active states while also working with the expansion team to identify new states in which to operate. She also served as the Managing Director for State Funding at Teach For America, where she oversaw strategies to secure state funding across the organization’s more than 40 states.

Ms. Marlette also served in a number of roles in the state legislature, including working for both Assembly Program and Counsel and most recently Senate Counsel and Program focusing on p-12 education policy.

Ms. Marlette is active in several not-for-profit and community groups and currently serves on the Board of Directors for ToLife.
