Nathaniel Altman is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment department. Mr. Altman assists with contract and union negotiations, grievance hearings and disciplinary matters, Section 72 matters, and Article 78 proceedings for municipal clients. Mr. Altman also assists businesses and higher education with compliance of state and federal wage and hour, labor, and anti-discrimination laws. In addition, Mr. Altman assists with the representation of clients in the filing of disability retirement applications to the New York state and local retirement system. Furthermore, Mr. Altman assists clients with probate proceedings as well as small businesses in corporate matters. Nathaniel joined the firm in 2022 as a Summer Law Clerk while earning his degree from Albany Law School.

Prior to joining Hinman Straub, Nathaniel attended Union College (NY), where he received a Bachelor’s degree. Nathaniel then worked in New York City as an underwriter and legal assistant for Mutual of America Financial Group before attending Albany Law School, where he graduated cum laude. While attending Albany Law School, Nathaniel interned at the Schenectady District Attorney’s Office and was a member of various clubs and organizations.
