Richard Chasney, Esq. is a member of the Firm’s Health, Compliance, and Government Relations departments. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Chasney spent three years as a Senior Attorney at the NYS Office of the Medicaid Inspector General (OMIG) where he represented NYS at administrative hearings on an extensive range of complex Medicaid fraud, waste, and abuse cases. He also advised OMIG executives on legal, regulatory, and policy challenges, including Medicaid Redesign Team II initiatives.

Mr. Chasney also spent seven years at the Office of the NYS Comptroller in the Professional Standards and Data Management units of the Division of Local Government and School Accountability, where he was responsible for ensuring NYS auditors adhered to Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards, and local government and school district financial reports met Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. He also supervised the review of local government and school district applications, including bond refundings and exclusions of debt from NYS Constitutional debt limits.
