Gaming Commission Lobbyist Registration Requirement
Via Twitter, the state Gaming Commission reminded lobbyists today that if they are seeking to appear before the Commission on behalf of a client, they must first register with the Commission.
Here is the Gaming Commission’s lobbyist registration form.
The registration requirement is in Racing, Pari-Mutuel Wagering and Breeding Law § 1329, which was part of the upstate New York Gaming and Economic Development Act of 2013 (Chapter 174 of 2013). Subdivision 2 of that section provides:
In addition to any other registration and reporting required by law, each lobbyist seeking to engage in lobbying activity on behalf of a client or a client’s interest before the commission shall first register with the secretary of the commission. The secretary shall cause a registration to be available on the commission’s website within five days of submission.
