Governor Signs “Revolving Door” Exemption for Laid Off State Employees

Governor Cuomo has signed into law a bill that allows the waiver of the two-year post- employment restrictions for former State officers and employees who are (or were) terminated before April 1, 2012 due to  “economy, consolidation or abolition of activities or other reduction in the State workforce.”

The (soon to be defunct) Commission on Public Integrity has posted instructions and an application form here. Presumably they remain able to grant waivers under appropriate circumstances.

Read the new law (Chapter 574 of 2011) here.

Read my prior post on this bill, which includes some additional history on revolving door exemptions, here.
