Governor to Create Moreland Commission to Look at Campaign Contributions?

At a press availability today, Gov. Cuomo acknowledged that his campaign finance reform and anti-public corruption proposals are not likely to be acted upon before the legislative session ends.

The Governor suggested – though he did not say definitively – that he will appoint a Moreland Act Commission to investigate legislators’ potential campaign finance violations.

He told reporters that “You do what you have to do to restore trust. And I think an independent investigations committee does that.”
