Moreland Commission Gets a Bigger Room

The Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption announced today that it will not (as originally planned) meet at a town community center in suburban Colonie.  Instead, next Tuesday night’s public hearing will be held in a meeting room at the Empire state Plaza. (It will also be webcast, as last week’s hearing was.)

From the release:

“Tuesday’s hearing will focus on campaign finance, outside income of state elected officials and political party housekeeping accounts.”

Those speaking on Tuesday will include:

  • Brian Paul, Research and Policy Manager, Common Cause New York
  • Bill Mahoney, Research Coordinator, New York Public Interest Research Group
  • Karen Scharff, Executive Director, and Jessica Wisneski, Legislative Campaigns Director, Citizen Action of New York
  • Dick Dadey, Executive Director and Rachael Fauss, Research and Policy Manager, Citizen Union

Perhaps Mr. Mahoney can help the Commissioners find someone who will crunch data for them.
